SSWBN Educational Foundation Scholarships

At the South Shore Womens Business Network, the SSWBN Educational Foundation gave out six scholarships to local women to help them reinvent their lives through education. Here are three videos of the award ceremony. If they don’t play through you can see them on the Educational Foundation’s youtube channel.

The scholarship winners are: Lynn Desmariais, Vicki Netskye-Doyle, Cindy Ann Landrevill, Lesley Muscatiello, Sonja Pelari, Lorraine Weaver. You can find more information on the SSWBN Educational Foundation on their website sswbnedfund.org.

Iphone Video Test

Video iphone test shot at Boston Media Makers. David Tames did a nice presentation on dealing with wind noise on location shoots. Shot on iphone, edited with adobe premier CS4 on an old Dell notebook. Iphone doesn’t shoot in true widescreen. I’ve zoomed in post a couple of time to show the difference.

The lighting was weak in the room, so I increased the gamma a little. You can see Steve Garfield shooting with his new 3GS too. Obviously we took a back seat to him

Janel Kesten – Photoshop & Graphics Expert

Janel Kesten gave several workshops on photoshop for Geek Girl Camp that were very popular. She also designed all the products for Geek Girl Camp, including the beautiful book for the camp.

Catherine Weber – Social Media Marketing

Catherine Weber was a very popular speaker at Geek Girl Camp. Here is a interview with her about some of the sessions she taught there on Social Media Marketing.

Some of the areas covered in the presentations included: email marketing – shat the email should include, dealing with span laws, rates of return you can expect, and how to handle un-subscribes. She also presented on Facebook for personal use and Linkedin for business.
