Should I Make a Video?

» by Tom Beach in: video

One of my favorite movie lines is Jeff Goldblum in the first Jurassic Park movie, “They were so busy figuring out if they could make dinosaurs, they never asked whether or not they should”.  We know what the results were in that movie.

It has never been easier to make video.  With the proliferation of video on the web and DVD’s it has never been easier to distribute video, and as a video production company we are asked to make videos for varous projects a lot.  The questions range from how to make a video, to the process involved with production.  The first question to ask is, should I make a video.

Of course we love video.  It is the best medium to capture the emotions and feelings surrounding a product or service.  With the explosion of video on the web and all the social networking sites where the video can be distributed we have access to such a large audience without paying the big bucks to place it on television.  So to answer the question “should I make a video?”, we say you should if you have a defined purpose, expected result, and it integrates effectively into your marketing plan.

Please give us your comments and what you would like to know about video or integrated marketing strategies.  What would you like to know?
